Archie is home from his surgery which unfortunately didn’t go to plan. He now has 18 screws permanently in his leg as his bone is dead. He is not allowed to move faster than a walk or be on anything but carpet or grass for 5 months. He still requires Atleast 3 more X-rays to see how his leg is recovering and he needs rehab to learn how to swing his straight leg to walk. I visited him on the weekend and he is still sniffing out all the food he can find. But mostly sleeping in his new baby cot with his cone of shame on! Hopefully the recovery process goes well 🙏🏻

  • Surgery update

Archie had surgery yesterday and it didn’t go to plan. Turns out they couldn't repair his break because his bone was dead

He had dislocated his radius and ulna as they were ripped apart which is unusual as they have such a strong bond and the elbow joint was shattered so there was no blood supply to his bone.

The joint is destroyed so there was no way to save it. The surgeon had to fuse the elbow with plates and put bone grafts from his shoulder on there.

Hopefully he will use his leg but he will never walk the same 😔

    Rehab is to come
