For everyone who might not know me, I'm Arden, I'm 22 and I am a #chill guy raising funds for my top surgery—a necessary, gender-affirming step that’ll make a massive difference in my day-to-day life.

Top surgery is something I have always dreamed of but never thought would be a reality. I’ve spent years navigating discomfort, dysphoria, and the weird contortions required just to feel halfway okay in my own body, especially in a politically tumultuous time such as our own where queer and trans acceptance and resistance is crucial. This surgery will fundamentally change my life forever.

... unfortunately, the public healthcare system here in Aotearoa for gender-affirming care is not only a slow but pricey process.

Use of funds

All funds raised will go towards surgeon fees, recovery time, and the healing process.

On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
