We are helping a fighter get back on her feet after some bad times and an early forced retirement.
Nationwide
As you are all aware we have had some really stink news on our girl Asher Bennie.
After her sustaining an injury during her last fight it is our opinion she has been let down by the medical team who performed her surgery and now because of this.... not the injury she has been ruled out of ever fighting again and still has possibly more surgery on top of the several she's had already had.
On behalf of Asher we want to let her team and anybody else know that Asher is still a huge part of our gym, as a coach as a mentor and as a teammate. She was concerned that she was letting her team down by not being around as much.... which is nonsense, and we hope to have our favorite pirate back soon.
Moving forward the plan is to utilize Ashers skills and knowledge more as a coach but also moving forward Asher will be our point of contact for matching any of our fight team. I will still do the L9 shows also but with her help.
We will also be ensuring Asher gets trained up properly as a judge and I would suggest the first south islands level 4 female ref.
As most of you know Asher is self employed in the sports world, and with trips to Christchurch at 400 km a round trip 2-3 times weekly, ACC not really being much help due to various reasons out of her control and no real income now since November, life I imagine is pretty hard work.
As you know Asher never ever asks for anything and always gives all she has to others, she has never turned away from a fight and now I feel that it's time to help her thru as much as I know she won't want it or even ask lol. Once this is set up we would love any kind donation to help.. even if that is just to share the post.
Thank you heaps for all your support of our girl
Asher is a fighter from my gym, I am her coach, she was injured in a fight, and underwent surgery. She has lost use of one eye and has had several other operations to try fix this.
The funds will be used to help Asher's mounting travel costs.
