We ask for your help in funding the two devices, to allow us more efficient collections in 2019 and beyond.
Otago
With increasing operational costs, our organisation is looking into new fundraising solutions. The Donation Point devices are something we believe will help us gather the funds more efficiently - and more in line with changing behaviour.
We are looking to purchase two devices, at a total cost of $1,120. These will be used at our fundraisers, supporting outlets and Treble Cone during the winter season.
What is Donation Point?
Collecting small change has become less effective due to the shift towards card payments and a reduction in the use of cash. Traditionally, small change donations have been collected by placing collection boxes in retail stores, shopping centres, restaurants or cafés. Donation Point Tap provides charities with the opportunity to accept donations electronically and securely at any location using Contactless card payment acceptance.
How it works?
Charity sets a fixed donation amount using the online portal. Once set, the reader will display that amount on its large colour display. Supporters then simply tap their Contactless enabled card, mobile or wearable to donate. The display will indicate payment success, and funds will be paid to the charity’s account within a few days.
We aim to provide the Alpine community of the Southern Lakes Region with a primary response avalanche search dog service, able to be rapidly deployed 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
