    Kia Ora all,

As previously, thanks so much for all the kind generosity during what seems our continuous never ending struggle.

An update on the Radiation and Stem Cell Transplant: Katie is due to begin her 1 week of intensive radiation on the 20th of April. This will be followed 1-2 weeks after with the Stem Cell Transplant.

Then begins the waiting and lobbying to try and get funding for the monoclonal antibody treatment Daratumumab.....because that's the last and best option remaining. It is funded in Australia, but we're unsure of how/if we are eligible to emigrate over there permanently and then get the the treatment there (If anyone knows that sort of immigration stuff then please get in touch).

    Nga mihi,

    Adam, Katie, and Niam

  • Radiation and likely Stem Cell Transplant

Thank you to everyone who has shown their love and supported us. We have been absolutely blown away by the generosity of so many friends, family, and strangers. It can be easy to feel alone in our troubles but our community is so big and so loving! Thank you so much x

We've had a busy start to the year and wanted to update everyone on what has been happening and what the future plans are.

In January, a PET Scan showed that Katie has a new plasmacytoma tumor on her spine. At the end of April, Katie will need to head to Auckland for radiation therapy to treat it. Thankfully, this time the radiation can be done in one week instead of five!

Afterwards, she is likely to need a Stem Cell Transplant, but we have not heard back from the doctors about this yet. This is the last option for treatment here in NZ until the successful Daratumumab, an anti-cancer monoclonal antibody medication, is funded.

(In other news, we're also in need of a place to rent within our unique situations budget....so any help on that front would likewise be greatly appreciated)

Hi Adam, Thank you for the update. Our prayers and thoughts are constant, especially with Katie’s treatment in April and with ongoing medical care. Now, we need to hope for a suitable place to rent. Your family is well loved.
