Assist Leisa & Indy 4 NZ Charity Cycle Journey funding

$570 of $6,000 goal
Given by 11 generous donors in around 4 months

We need your help. With a planned four months cycling over 3000 km's to raise funds and awareness for 13 regional charities cost $50 pd

Canterbury

We will be cycling the Length of NZ starting 1st Oct 2015 promoting/fundraising for 13 regional charities, over 4 months, at a daily est cost of $50.

This is made up of $16 for a tent site. $30 food. $2 washing. $2 dryer.

Q Why would I want to Cycle the Length of NZ with a dog in a trailer and with the help of "hopefully" many participants raise money for 13 charities?

A sensible enough question I suppose!

A. Because I can. Along with..... I want to give back. As you know we live in such a wonderful country with extraordinary people and if; through this journey I can help promote/educate/share with many others while out and about doing something I love, then why not.

The expectation is that while Indy and I travel along on our Journey, with the help of a support vehicle we will be joined by many others that will wish to do the same. These wonderful people will be required to ask their friends and family to sponsor them so many dollars per km and those funds will go directly to the 13 charities.(of which selection is still proceeding) via another Give a Little page (which has still to be set up). Please take a look at my facebook page (Leisa & Indy NZ Charity Cycle Journey for updates).

July - public speaking, sponsorship, back on the bike  11 July 2015

Hi.

I received my first invitation to speak to a group about my cycle journey on Tues night. Altrusa - Chch were kind & generous as I have very little experience. Knowing my subject, a couple of photo boards and stories from a riding adventure with Indy earlier in the year all created for a wonderful first experience.

It's wonderful being back in the saddle after a bad mountainbike crash six weeks ago and the two of us headed out yesterday for a loop around Christchurch. A matching bike, trailer box, helmet and Indy sitting up smiling at everyone created lots of fascinated smiles.

Sponsorship for a support vehicle and promotional material for the van confirmed.

Editorial material has gone out to magazines nationwide and internationally with a positive response coming back.

This coming week I hope to have a route map loaded onto my facebook page so people can see where I am going and hopefully plan to join us along the way.

Take care, enjoy each and every Leis & Indy
