Poor Coco was viciously attacked and requires ongoing vet treatment
Napier, Hawke's Bay
On Friday 28th February little Coco was viciously attacked by an unrestrained dog as Coco and his Mummy Cilla were on their daily walk. Coco was on a lead. This happened down Taradale Road by Tamatea Intermediate. The owner of the dog that attacked Coco could not control the dog and it kept biting Coco unrelentingly. Luckily some lovely people passing by stopped to help and one of them rushed Cilla and Coco down to the Vets. Coco is facing a long journey to recovery including skin grafts as his skin is so scredded in places. The vet bills are going to be horrific but not as horrific as the attack on Coco. Cilla is a good friend of mine and this page is set up to fundraise some funds to be used for Coco's vet bills.
Cilla is a good friend of mine.
The money will be used to pay vet bills including skin grafts that will be done at Massey University.
Update on Coco 23 March 2025
Thank you so much to all of you who so willingly have contributed to Coco’s vet bills…Cilla and her family are truly humbled by your kindness.
Coco is doing really well. The vets down at Massey University were amazing and managed to close Coco’s 17cm by 17cm wound with a skin flap. A portion of the skin flap has failed, and so we are slowly trying to heal the open wounds as the skin peels off. But he is such a brave boy and had coped really well even though he has at times been in immense pain.
Cilla has been getting him out and about in a pram while he isn’t allowed to do much exercise and he is loving it!! If you see us stop and say hi…he loves cuddles!!
