My aunty, who is terminally ill, needs help to move home from the South Island so she can be surrounded by family and support.
Waikato
My aunty, in her mid-50s, has been diagnosed with a terminal illness, emphysema. Right now, she’s living alone in the South Island, far from the support of her family, with only her two dogs by her side. Her home is a bus and it’s her pride, her independence, and her last source of comfort.
As her illness progresses, she’s feeling the deep loneliness of isolation. What she desperately wants is to come home to the Waikato, to spend her the time she has surrounded by the people who love her. But leaving behind her bus, her home, and her dogs would be devastating. These are the things that have kept her going, even in the hardest times.
We, as a family, are doing everything we can. We have a ute and trailer and hands, we can handle most of the move. But we need help with a critical part—getting her bus, vehicle and furniture on the ferry and covering the petrol costs to bring them all home. Without this support, she’ll be stuck in isolation, away from the love and care she deserves.
This is our last chance to bring her home, so she can live her days in peace, in her own home, with her beloved pets. Every dollar raised will go directly to making this journey possible.
Please, help us make this possible. Any donation, no matter the size, will bring us one step closer to giving my aunty the peace, love, and dignity she deserves.
Thank you for your generosity and compassion.
My aunty has always been my number one, offering guidance and support whenever I needed it. She means the world to me, and I’ll do everything I can to bring her home to be with family. I’m forever grateful for all she’s done, and it’s my turn to give back
The money will be used for ferry tickets for Aunty's car and bus, a return vehicle ferry ticket for bringing back furniture, petrol for the three vehicles, and halfway accommodation for Aunty and her escort, who will be driving the bus to bring her home.
