Aurora’s birth, life journey and celebration

Nakita and Vincent are soon to have their 4th beautiful and much anticipated baby girl Aurora.

At week 34 they are prepared to deliver her next week via induction with the advice she may not survive long. Since midway through the pregnancy scans showed abnormalities with her kidneys. Initially there was hope it would remedy itself, As time, scans and numerous trips to specialists in Auckland driving from central north island with kids all in tow they’ve discovered that things aren’t looking fantastic for Aurora at this point. Major organs are not how or where their supposed to be in scans, and her wee heart is showing signs it may struggle.

They have been advised that she may last 3 minutes, 3 days or 3 weeks. They will not know until she arrives. There is still hope she may arrive better than expected and be able to be treated if so it will be a rough road. Extensive travel and care costs for the other children, amping other stressors.

The family thankfully has the support of Ronald McDonald house while in hospital. Costs of travel, living and the everyday costs from home while the family face aurora’s journey could be alleviated with the support of kind people willing to donate what they can. Thank you.
