Ava needs help to fund her chemotherapy treatment.
Auckland
Ava, our 7 year old German Shepherd was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma in December 2021; she has started chemotherapy but it is extremely expensive as you can imagine. Any assistance to support her ongoing therapy would be gratefully appreciated. We want to give her every chance of going into remission and staying there so that we can buy her more time.
Chemotherapy treatment - 25 rounds as well as fortnightly blood tests and medication to support her well-being after and during treatment
Ava update 24 June 2022
Ava update: yesterday was treatment 15/16 - the end is in sight after a very long 6 months since diagnosis. Treatment days got changed due to clinic emergency a couple of weeks ago, not that Ava had any idea. I gave her the gabapentin before we set off - the vets have moved premises making the journey longer and across the Auckland harbour bridge.
Ava skews more stressed this time then I’ve seen her in a while - whining and shaking as we pulled uo. On a positive note she had no effects this time; her weight is stable and we are so close now.
I just wanted to thank everyone who has sent messages of love and and support over this time and for the kind donations which have helped toward the cost of her treatment. We were told initially to expect costs of around $10-$12,000 - in reality it’s almost double that.
Thank you very much 💙
