Awhi (Help) Tui Bristowe's Family after their sudden loss

  • Next step in life

      18 February 2020

    Hi all,

just a quick update on where we are at. Gordon and the kids are back in Melbourne after a break in Hastings.

Kat and the girls are also back in Melbourne, with Mum in between the two places.

Bo and Andhika are still in Melbourne, helping out with Gordon and generally being an awesome brother.

Myself and Tuwhakairiora are back in the Netherlands working back into some normalcy.

I would like to thank each and everyone of you for donating, from all walks of lives, people we know, that we dont. You have given us immense faith in the community that we humbly serve.

Thank you to our hau kainga in Te Araroa, that kept us going.

    Financial Update.

As you all know we had a few major funeral director bills to pay off. Thanks to Elly Patira for fronting the biggest bill in Australia, we were allowed the time to withdraw the funds from this give-a-little effort and repay a large chunk back.

We had a secondary bill in Auckland, this was paid again by our Patira family, and my Uncle Matt. When this campaign ends, the following month we are able to replenish those funds quickly.

If there is anything less, we will give that to Gordon and the boys.

On behalf of Tui, Gordon and the 3 boys - again, your kindness at this time has been overwhelming, received, embraced and wonderful. If in the future we are able to repay your kindness - look out for us.

    with love

    Iritana

    Hi Fam,

Iritana here again, we managed to clear a lot of admin yesterday on behalf of Tui.

Tui has been seen by the coroner with the decision to not perform any autopsy.

Our Melbourne based funeral director is in the process of receiving Tui, Gordon and Kataraina will head over there soon to keep her company.

Tonight we hope to have Tui in the funeral home, allowing a grieving whānau to be with her.

Our estimated flyout date looks to be this Saturday. However we are contingent on Robert-Daymond (Tui's 11 year old) getting clearance from his Cardiologist/Surgeon to fly.

We managed to renew the boys NZ passports, so we are ready.

Shouting out to ALL of Tui & Gordon's support base here, keeping us fed and hydrated.

Mum's two sisters are on the way to Melbourne to keep Mum busy and give her a hug.

I wanted thank you all again, from the Netherlands through to NZ digging so deep to help provide for these 3 boys and their Dad, not just for today, but for the 60 plus years Their Mum was supposed to be here.

Keep the messages coming through, the memories, we are finding moments in-between the tears to love our best stories about Tui.

I will keep you updated as best I can.

  • What is happening with us...

      28 January 2020

    Hey Fam,

We are still here in Melbourne, yesterday was Australia Day, and we did not get a chance to be with Tui. We are hoping to get through a number of processes with the Coroner, complete an autopsy, meet the conditions of an airline, and try to arrange funeral directors in Auckland... Then drive to Awatere Marae Back in The Araroa.

My awesome cousin will work with Gordon to see about ways of speeding this process up, as our Melbourne based Funeral director has predicted a possible date of next week Tuesday (she could be released to us). That is an unexpectedly long waiting time.

We are blessed with the awesome friends and family based in Melbourne, who are working around the clock to fill the gaping hole Tui has left.

Im overwhelmed with financial outpouring of love, the messages left... Wow what an amazing little sister I have. Thanks for digging deep, your presence, your messages and shared grief is just PERFECT!

My husband and kids are trying to get here quickly from Amsterdam, a tiny hiccup means my kiddies have not received their visas. My husband is furiously trying to get here to support me.

aan mijn familie en vrienden in Nederland, bedankt, bedankt voor je steun en begrip.
