    Kia ora e hoa mā!

    Just wanted to give a long overdue update.

    While we didn't reach our target, the money we raised was all put to good use. We got a nice new comfy mat for the whare and made it all a bit cozier for the different kaupapa we hold. We successfully ran several events during Te Wiki o te reo Māori and planning has begun for this year.

    Keep an eye out online for upcoming kaupapa.

  • All done for 2024!

    Tēnā rā tātou katoa!

    Nei rā te mihi ki a koutou, kaitautoko mā.

    Really appreciate all the support everyone has shown us over the past few months. Te Awa Whiria is beginning to feel more and more like home with each week that passes.

    Your contributions helped us get new curtains, a door mat (lol) and window frosting. We've got some lovely plants both inside and out. We held a film festival, a hīkoi, a pop activation space and several wānanga.

    Even though we didn't reach our target and we still have a long way to go, I know it's only onwards and upwards.

    Can't wait to show you all what comes next.

    Taking another month to hopefully gain some more funds to get our website up and running! Have already made a lot of headway with all the generous donations, but let's keep them coming in!

  • Overdue update!

    Kia ora rā e hoa mā!

    It's been a minute between updates - ka aroha! We've just got through te wiki o te reo Māori, so am only just now getting a minute to breath.

    Excited to say we acquired a bath for our raranga activites and we are going to be ordering our window film this week from the awesomely amazing Aho Creative. We've also got our hands on some plants too, so will look at getting some more planters/pots also.

    Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou for all the tautoko - hopefully going to be ramping up our fundraising activities again!
