Help Kōrero ki Ōtautahi make a difference.
Christchurch, Canterbury
Tēnā koutou e hoa mā,
Kōrero ki Ōtautahi has recently embarked on a new adventure - we've partnered with Ako Mai to open Te Awa Whiria. Our new space, in Avonside at Climate Action Campus, is a multi-purpose whare that we want to utilise to elevate and revitalise ngā taonga Māori - reo, toi, me mātauranga hoki.
We have big dreams for the what the space will become, but we're currently just getting started out and we need your help. We don't need the space to be flash, but we want people to feel comfortable and at home when they're there. So far, everything we've managed to get for the space has been gifted, repurposed, made or brought from our own homes.
We know how tight things are at the moment, but every little bit helps. Even just sharing around your networks helps the cause.

Kia ora e hoa mā!
Just wanted to give a long overdue update.
While we didn't reach our target, the money we raised was all put to good use. We got a nice new comfy mat for the whare and made it all a bit cozier for the different kaupapa we hold. We successfully ran several events during Te Wiki o te reo Māori and planning has begun for this year.
Keep an eye out online for upcoming kaupapa.
Ngā mihi rawa atu ki a koutou - we appreciate your continued support.
