In need of immediate Surgery - Auckland

Our friend Macarena Acosta migrated from Uruguay to Waiheke Island (Auckland, New Zealand) on search of a cultural experience and a better life .

Last week she experienced a sharp abdominal pain and was diagnosed with gallbladder stones . Even though she had never had any health problems before her insurance labeled her condition as a pre existing condition thus not convering her . As per the doctor she is in need of immediate surgery as the this desease won’t revert back . She can either schedule this surgery or wait for it to escalate on the next few weeks, she will need to be admitted into hospital either way . The estimated cost of the hospital expenses is $15,000 . So far we have been able to fundraise $2,000.

Travelling home is not an option either as the health system of Uruguay would imply higher costs .

We are trying to help her by sharing this situation with the community . We are very concerned about her health situation and would appreciate any support given .
