Baby Farida's Medical Journey

  • Successful surgery, now off home!

    A big thank you to all the donors who have helped contribute to our little miracle, Farida, and her journey to India for surgery, to remove the mass on the back of her head.

    From myself and her parents there are no words that come close to expressing the gratitude we have towards each and every person's donations and prayers. Farida's surgery went smoothly, mass has been removed, her recovery was better than expected, and now she is getting ready to head back to her home country of Fiji in a few days. Doctors and parents are very happy with the results although she may need to go back next year for a few more minor surgeries that involve her ear etc. Let's all pray that her journey back home is a safe one.   • Baby Farida is now in India

    Thank you to all generous donors and the will of God, our sweet Farida reached India last week and is doing just fine. Upon arriving she had a CT scan and an MRI scan done. Unfortunately there is further bad news about her mass. There is quite a bit of brain inside the mass and as her normal head is smaller than her age group's head size, this poses a problem. So doctors have informed her parents that she will need two major surgeries now. One, to drain out the fluid in the mass. Secondly to put all of her brain inside her head which will require some plastic surgery so the head can accommodate for the whole brain. I will give more updates as they come, in the meantime please keep praying for Farida.

  • Farida's Update

    A very warm hello to you generous donor. All funds collected will be passed onto Razia Mohammed of Being Helping Hand Fiji once Give A Little has released the money, but in the meantime good news is that a medical seat has finally become available for Farida and her parents to travel to India, it will be on the fourth of January 2023, this departure date is confirmed. Please keep her in your prayers as her mass is getting bigger and god willing the surgeons will still agree to perform surgery on her and that no major risks will be involved. Thank you again for helping Farida reach her target to begin her medical journey. Keep her in your prayers and do send good vibes her way please.

  • Airfares have gone up since first quoted.

    Unfortunately there has been some changes to the amount needed for travel to India from Fiji. When quoted some weeks ago the price per person for adult was 4200FJD and is now 7400FJD. Both mum and dad are going with Baby Farida, so an urgent plea to help donate and reach our target is greater now than ever. If any of you generous donors are not in the position to donate anymore that is absolutely fine, we understand, but please do share this link to others, it could help save our little angel's life. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
