Baby Farida's Medical Journey
Baby Farida needs our help.

Three months old baby Farida Hussien of Fiji was diagnosed with Microcephaly a birth defect where the baby's head is smaller than expected when compared to babies of the same sex and age.
She is also diagnosed with Occipital encephalocele (OE) a congenital malformation of the brain, where there is swelling of different sizes over the bone in the midline.
Farida need urgent medical attention to remove this extra growth in her body ,as there is no treatment for her condition in Fiji her parents are planning to take her abroad for this treatment.

Successful surgery, now off home! 5 March 2023
A big thank you to all the donors who have helped contribute to our little miracle, Farida, and her journey to India for surgery, to remove the mass on the back of her head.
From myself and her parents there are no words that come close to expressing the gratitude we have towards each and every person's donations and prayers. Farida's surgery went smoothly, mass has been removed, her recovery was better than expected, and now she is getting ready to head back to her home country of Fiji in a few days. Doctors and parents are very happy with the results although she may need to go back next year for a few more minor surgeries that involve her ear etc. Let's all pray that her journey back home is a safe one.
