We’ve tried everything! Now we need a little science (and support) to help Fi & Ben make a baby 🦋
Canterbury
Hi team,
We’ve got a bit of a situation…
After five years of trying to make a baby the old-fashioned way, we’ve discovered it’s not quite as easy as it seems.
Along the way, we’ve experienced the heartbreak of loss, something that changed this journey for us in ways we never expected. After painful procedures, countless tests, and being told it’s “unexplained infertility,” things have felt heavy at times but it’s also shown us just how much this dream means to us.
We’ve tried everything. We’ve been patient, changed our diet, joined gyms, lost weight, and even tried “not thinking about it” (which is impossible). Despite giving it our absolute best shot, we now need a little extra help from science.
Enter IVF, the really expensive part. As much as we’d love for good vibes and determination to do the trick, IVF unfortunately requires actual money. Rude, honestly.
In Aotearoa, publicly funded IVF has strict criteria around BMI, age, and other factors, plus a long waitlist. Unfortunately, we don’t meet that criteria, so we’re going private.
So here we are, doing something we never thought we would, asking for help.
If you’re able to donate, you’ll be helping us take this next step toward creating a tiny human, which feels pretty special. If not, sharing this page means just as much.
We promise any future child will be extremely cool, moderately well-behaved, and will absolutely know they were backed by a top-tier support crew.
With love, laughter, and just a hint of desperation,
Fi & Ben
IVF is broken into 3 stages:
- stage one is medication & monitoring
- stage two is egg collection & embryology
- stage three is embryo transfer
Stages are paid in instalments. Funds will go towards any of these plus any extra costs needed.
