Back Noko on her journey to represent the Cook Islands at the Commonwealth Games
Nationwide
Noko has qualified to represent the Cook Islands in Olympic Weightlifting at the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Currently ranked among the top six athletes in the Commonwealth in the 86+ category, she has earned the opportunity to compete against some of the best athletes in the world on the biggest stage of her sporting career.
Outside of sport, Noko is completing a Master of Social Work, undertaking research focused on Pacific mental health, all while balancing social work placements and full time work. As a proud Pasifika woman, she is passionate about creating positive outcomes for Pacific communities both on and off the platform. Weightlifting is an extremely important vessel for her to showcase this.
To give herself the best opportunity to perform at the Commonwealth Games, Noko needs your financial support to create more time for training, recovery, and preparation in the lead-up to the event.
While Noko's travel and accommodation for the Commonwealth Games are funded, your support would ensure that she can access healthcare (like physiotherapy, massage), high quality food and reduce the extreme mental load of ensuring she can continue to cover life’s costs whilst she is away for approximately a month in Glasgow.
Let’s back our girl to get there!
Friend.
Access to physiotherapy, massage, quality food, covering life expenses whilst away for an extended period, along with loss of income.
