Back on His Feet; Help my Dad, Gulab Fund for Vital Treatment

Fundraiser is for Sanjay and Vandna's Dad Mr Gulab Singh.

In June 2025, our family was hit with a devastating crisis when my husband became critically ill and was admitted to hospital. Seeing how much pain and stress we were under, my wonderful dad, Gulab Singh and mum immediately travelled to NZ to be by our side and provide the vital moral and emotional support we so desperately needed. He wanted nothing more than to protect his family during our darkest hour.

Tragically, while he was here taking care of us, my dad became severely ill himself. He was rushed to Middlemore Hospital where doctors discovered he was suffering from a severe fluid overload in both his lungs and body.

He spent nearly 5 days in hospital fighting for his life. Thanks to the incredible, swift efforts of the medical team at Middlemore, they saved his life and got him stabilized. We are endlessly grateful to have him still with us today.

Because my dad was visiting from Fiji his life-saving care has come with a substantial cost. We have just received the final invoice from Te Whatu Ora and the total bill comes to $16,670.27 dated 19th May 2026.

Between navigating my husband's critical illness and now managing my dad's sudden medical emergency costs, this unexpected financial strain is simply more than our family can carry alone.
