February 2023 and this is the 3rd time the farm has flooded. Cyclone Gabrielle have wrecked total havoc to my family's lifestyle block and it has been many many years creating our beautiful home and NZ native tree sanctuary. Halfway through the repairs from the last floods, all of the hard work of digging up plants, fences and removing forestry debris is now for nothing. There is a huge clean up needed urgently and this cannot be managed by 2 people alone. We are exhausted physically, and mentally drained from the last 6 weeks of chaos.

Our farm is now covered in over a meter of silt and forestry slash. Fences need to be dug out as well as plants and the animal feed has been destroyed by the floods. While we do have insurance, this only covers the house and car and not the property land and fences. Many people have been affected so insurance payments will be delayed.
