Back foot forward Run for Sean - Help Sean learn to run again by sponsoring Hamish to run his first Marathon

  • FUNDRAISING DAY #5 - COUNTDOWN TO RACE DAY = 2 DAYS

    Firstly, a big shout out to all those who have already generously made donations to the fundraiser I am doing to help Sean on his journey to be able to run again, you are all awesome!

    So, to recap I am running my first Marathon on Sunday and as part of my motivation I am raising much needed funds for Elliot's mate Sean who is learning to run again after bone cancer resulted in a radical surgery where his foot has now been rotated 180 degrees and re-attached to become his new knee joint.

    Last night my training journey ended with my last training run completed. Since the beginning of July that's 49 runs covering 602kms and me now 10kgs lighter than when I began.

    For most of us the emotional drain on Sean and his family, of continual hospital visits and treatments, is unimaginable but the financial toll (many of these expenses have to be covered by his family and supporters) is even worse.

    This is why I am asking you to make a donation if you are able. My aim is to get 200 people to give $10 by consciously giving up a couple of Christmas beers, wines, lattes, soft drinks, mince pies, chocolate bars, christmas decorations or crackers etc and putting this towards Sean's needs.

    Thanks for everyones awesome support so far;

    As I write this update, I have just heard that Sean is back in Starship Hospital for more tests and procedures on his "Backwards foot"

    As most of us look forward to spending Christmas with family and friends, please spare a thought for Sean and his Mum who will very likely be spending their 6th Christmas in or visiting a hospital away from home and the rest of their family (many of the costs involved have to be met by them or their supporters) - the emotional toll is massive and the financial one even worse for this amazing family...if you have the means please DONATE, and if not please SHARE the fundraising page today with at least 5 people you know and ask them to do the same

    PLEASE DO THIS NOW !!!

    For those of you that don't know - on Sunday I will be attempting to run my first Marathon. Although I have trained more than I ever have before it is still a big step into the unknown for me. That said Sean's steps are are even bigger and more unknown than mine.

    As a way of supporting me, I am asking for a few moments of your time to do one of two things (or both):

    1) make a donation if you are able to, or

    2) Share the link below with your friends, family, colleagues and all the networks that you are hooked into and help raise much needed funds so Sean can achieve his goals... but please do it now as this is a short campaign.

    Many Thanks

    Hamish
