Support Heidi's ballet dream

Heidi Craig started learning classical ballet at the age of two-and-a-half. By the time she was seven years old, she knew that she’d found her passion and was adamant that she wanted to commit to becoming a professional ballerina.

Now she is 15 years old and her passion is as strong as ever. She has worked hard towards her goal and achieved many accomplishments so far, and now, she is entering full-time ballet training at an elite facility: Queensland Ballet Academy in Brisbane, Australia.

This means she needs to move away from home here in Wellington, with the expense that that brings. There's also the expense of the training: did you know that pointe shoes cost about NZD150 for a pair and only last about four weeks (probably less when they're training full-time)?

Heidi has also been given a scholarship to attend the Dutch National Ballet Academy for four weeks of training. When it comes to these things, New Zealand is so far away!
