Help the Blackburn sisters play Basketball in the USA

ABOUT US:

Hey there! Thanks for coming to our page:) Our names are Leila Blackburn (17yrs) and Roimata Blackburn (18yrs). We grew up in Papakura South Auckland, New Zealand and currently live in Wanganui, New Zealand where we attend Wanganui High School.

We love everything and anything to do with basketball as we have been brought up surrounded by it. We grew up watching peers and family members play basketball from a young age and now we’ve seen them succeed by playing for Colleges in the States. This has motivated and sparked our passion to follow there footsteps not alone but together as sisters. We have been playing Basketball since we were 5 years old and ever since then this has always been set as a goal for us to make it to the States.

THE CAUSE:

We have been very fortunate to land an opportunity of a lifetime. We both have been offered a partial Basketball Scholarship to attend Life Preparatory Academy In Wichita, Kansas City, USA where we will have the opportunity to compete against some of the best basketball players in the state while getting scouted to go to College on a Full Basketball Scholarship.

Life Preparatory Academy is a Prep School in Wichita, KS, which prepares students academically, and athletically at the College level. We will be attending the school from September 2015- May 2016.

But to get there we need to raise the remaining funds.

Basketball is a big part of our lives but we understand that there is much more to life than playing sport. So we plan to use our basketball talent to gain a Full Basketball Scholarship to a College where both of us will study Imaging in Radiography and take that carrier path, while playing the sport we love.
