Funds for double Patella surgery for two cool cats - Banjo and Baloo
Christchurch, Canterbury
Baloo and Banjo are both lovely young rescue cats with unstable knees. Both require Patella surgery to both knees so that they are stable and these cats can be fully mobile and pain free. Both boys are currently on pain management and anti-inflammatory medication.
Cat Rescue Christchurch is currently going into kitten season quite low on funds and with these two big vet bills looming. This is due to a number of cats needing patella surgery, some like Banjo and Baloo have needed both knees done, as well as a number of extensive and expensive dental surgeries. Like most other charities, the last two years have been extra hard with our amazing volunteers not being able to do much fundraising and grants to help us with our desexing costs being unavailable.
Cat Rescue Christchurch is the only non-kill cat rescue in Christchurch. If we can provide a cat with help that will enable it to have full quality of life then we try everything we can to make that happen.
Banjo and Baloo will both make awesome family members to two lucky families, but they can't be adopted until they have had this surgery and can live pain free lives.
Our main activities are desexing stray cats and rescuing, socialising and rehoming kittens. We also advocate the importance of desexing to the general public and promote the early desexing of cats and kittens before adoption.
Surgery for these two boys, to be most likely undertaken by the amazing Trish at Oxford vet, who has already helped us with a number of successful surgeries for other cats with this condition.
