Blue Diamond Society, Nepal's LGBTI appeal

  • 2nd payment made - and 4 days' left for this appeal

    We have almost raised $2,000 for LGBTI people affected by the devastating earthquake in Nepal.

    Give a Little has deposited the rest of the money raised in May - $600 - and I have just sent it through to Manisha at Blue Diamond Society in Kathmandu.

    There are only 4 days' left before this appeal ends. So far there has been another $350 donated in June. That means we have raised $1850 in total. I will ask Gay NZ if they can promote the appeal one more time - so hopefully we might manage to raise a total of $2,000.

  • Update from Blue Diamond Society

    Below is an update from Blue Diamond Society about how they have been using the money that people have donated. We have another $600 raised to add to the $850 already sent to them in Nepal. There is another 24 days left to this appeal - so any help publicising it would be great.

  • First $NZ 850 sent to Blue Diamond Society today

    Thank you so much to everyone who has donated.

    Everyone has been really generous.

    I made the first $NZ 850 / $US 635 transfer online today to Blue Diamond Society. It takes 2 business days' to process so hopefully they will have it by Tuesday next week.

    And there is already $600 more donated or pledged - including $500 raised at the CTU's Out@Work conference last week,. The next payment comes through to me on 25 May - so I'm hoping we can send through a similar amount then too.

  • First payment goes to BDS this week

    Thank you so much to everyone who has donated.

    Give a Little processes the first donations this Thursday 14 or Friday 15 May - and I'll send them straight through to Blue Diamond Society along with everyone's words of support. So far we have raised $750. Another $500 was raised by LGBTI trade union delegates at their Out@Work hui that finished yesterday in Waikato. So that's a total of $1,250 so far. It would be great to get double that if we can. Thank you for your help spreading the word about the appeal. Jack
