Beating cancer, Jays journey

My brothers(Billy) beautiful wife, Jaydene, who is an awesome mother to their two babies Nikau 8 & Iris 3, not to mention an amazing, selfless daughter, sister, aunty and friend! Was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. This news came as a huge shock and honestly hasn’t quite sunken in as she’s only 27, fit, otherwise healthy, with no family history of cancer.

Since finding out on the 28th March the tumour has grown and is getting closer to a vein meaning it has potential to cause rapid spread. The drs have confirmed it’s spread from the milk ducts to 2 lymph nodes. The past few weeks have been filled with trips back and forth to Whangarei. Pending CT results, will confirm it hopefully hasn’t spread further and her first Chemo date has been set for the 14th April, so things are moving fairly quickly.

In the last week Jay, Billy, Nikau & Iris’ lives have flipped and we are doing anything to help where we can.

Jay obviously won’t be able to keep working for the foreseeable and Billy will be needing to take alot of time off work to be there caring for his wife and their babies. With a mortgage to pay, the costs of living and treatments, time off is adding more pressure. So here I am hoping with your guys generosity, we can help alleviate stress levels by relieving some financial strain while my brother and sister navigate their family through this part of their lives journey.
