Bringing Beau Bear home, and healing Zeke.
Waikato
29th March 2026 was like any other normal day. Beau and Zeke enjoyed their day running around together and playing. That night as I (their mama) went to feed them, Beau Bear did not come when called - which was odd, he always came running when it was dinner time. I noticed that the garage door was shut, and thought of course he's shut himself in there again, so went to let him out. Unfortunately when I opened the door, our beautiful boy was no longer with us. He was only 8, and this was very unexpected. He was healthy and full of life. As this was unexpected, and the current economy crisis we are facing, we are struggling to get the funds together to pay for his cremation- the cheapest one we could get at $415.00.
The following day, his brother Zeke injured his leg. The outcome from the vet visit is that he has torn his medial cruciate ligament in his back leg. This is costing us approximately $2000, and he will be on crate rest for approx. 6 weeks.
We are doing everything we can to pull the funds together, but hoping we can raise a little to help.

Zeke update 23 April 2026
We are 1 week post surgery. Zeke is doing so well. Hes not 100% keen on being in his crate all the time, but he is coping. Going out a few times a day to use go to the toilet, and get some fresh air. This afternoon he was rubbing his fave in the grass.
The little houdini has managed to get his Elizabethean collar off a few times, and play with his dressings, but we've been able to re-do them. Stitches come out next week, and he will have a post-op appointment. His human sister has made some posters for his cage too. She will occasionally climb in there with him, and keep him company.
