The journey to parenthood isn’t always straightforward. Many New Zealanders face financial barriers that make accessing fertility treatments like IVF, ICSI, or egg freezing nearly impossible. These treatments can be costly, stressful, and out of reach for those who need them most.

Publicly funded IVF is limited, with long waitlists that often stretch beyond a year, leaving many couples waiting and uncertain about when they might start their family. For those who can’t wait or don’t qualify for public funding, the high cost of private treatment—averaging around $12,000-18,000+ per IVF cycle adds significant pressure.

Fertility challenges affect not just women but men too, male infertility contributes to nearly 40% of all cases. Many couples require multiple cycles, making the financial and emotional toll even greater.

We believe everyone deserves the chance to become a parent, regardless of their financial situation. This fundraiser aims to provide much-needed support to those struggling with infertility, easing the burden and helping families grow.

In New Zealand, 1 in 6 couples experience infertility—a reality that touches thousands of lives every day. Together, we can bring hope, help, and the possibility of parenthood to more Kiwi families.

All funds raised will go directly towards grants for New Zealander's fertility treatment. An application for the grants will be launched on the Core Fertility website in December for individuals to apply. Updates will be made on our social media pages linked below.

Eligibility for fertility treatment support will be based on a range of factors, including financial circumstances, the number of children you already have, supporting documentation, and the availability of personal funds. Each application will be reviewed carefully to ensure support is provided to those with the greatest need.
