Becki's battle of the cancer part II

$9,425 donated
Given by 73 generous donors in around 11 months

Contributions towards unfunded medical treatments and ongoing costs of living

Hamilton, Waikato

Stage 4 incurable bowel cancer sucks!

18 months ago Becki's cancer battle began and tipped her world upside down.

The treatment plan remains the same for now.

Chemo every 2 weeks, with additional infusions.

Gruelling days of post chemo effects.

A weeks worth of radiation.

Becki has completed over a full year of treatment - 27 rounds of chemotherapy - and the battle sadly continues on rinse and repeat with no end of treatment in sight.

Thanks to generous donations back in 2024 Becki has been able to continue unfunded treatment to this point and the plan is to continue… Your generosity will help support Becki pay for her unfunded drugs as well as support her and her children Maddi and Jackson with the expenses and making of memories while she is still unable to work due to the gruelling treatment toll.

Becki continues to self fund her hefty treatment at Salutis and other adjuvant therapies for maintaining her health and wellbeing.

Becki's update 🩷  5 June 2025

Hi super star supporters! I just wanted to take the time to reach out and thank you for your kindness and generosity as I battle this horrid disease. I am truly grateful and every little bit is helping to pay for my non funded therapies and keep the wolves from the door. - It’s been a wild ride over the past few weeks and a scary time for us all. My Mothers day gift resulted in me being ambulanced to hospital in the wee hours, 14 hours in ED, a scan that discovered my bowel and tumour had perforated. Emergency surgery took place leaving me with a stoma and colostomy bag. A second surgery was required as I developed an infection. 2 solid weeks in hospital and a slow recovery now at home. While it’s hard going and providing me with multiple challenges… I am still alive and here to tell the tale. - So once again, thank you for being in my corner and helping me to fight! Big loves, Becki

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
