Bella and Tukawheta's recovery following high speed hit and run, almost hitting Vanessa's teenage daughter at the same time

Invercargill, Southland

On Tuesday, 14 July, Vanessa's beloved blue Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Bella and Tukawheta were tragically involved in a high speed hit-and-run accident in residential area, almost hitting her teenage daughter at the same time.

Both dogs sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving extensive veterinary treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Their ongoing care is expected to be extensive, with planned surgeries, placing a significant financial burden on Vanessa during an already heartbreaking time.

We are reaching out to our community for support. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly towards Bella and Tukawheta's veterinary care and recovery. Your kindness and generosity will help relieve some of the financial pressure and allow Vanessa to focus on what matters most- helping Bella and Tukawheta recover and heal.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
