Bella's Farewell - Celebrating a Pawsome Legacy

$176 of $900 goal
Given by 6 generous donors in 19 days

Fundraising for Bella's heartfelt farewell: supporting her journey to heaven as we say goodbye to our beloved family dog battling cancer.

Canterbury

Join us in giving our cherished furry family member, Bella, the farewell she deserves as she embarks on her journey to doggy heaven.

Battling an aggressive cancer, and nearly 13 years old, Bella, who survived the Christchurch Earthquakes as a puppy, has been Ted's companion through life's ups and downs.

Despite our best efforts over the past year with surgery, and now her declining health as the cancer has spread, it's time for a bittersweet goodbye.

Having exhausted our savings in trying to save her in the past year, we're putting pride aside and asking for your help to make Bella's farewell as special as the love she's given us. It's a tough ask, but every donation brings us a step closer to giving our beloved Bella the farewell she deserves.

We know times are super tough for people at the moment, and don't expect that donations will cover all costs. Anything helps alleviate the financial strain of saying goodbye. If we can offer anything in return for your support, please let us know.

Your generosity will help cover Bella's cremation costs and ensure her memory lives on in our hearts. Bella's absence will also be heavily felt by our daughter Amber, creating a void we hope to fill with keepsakes crafted from Bella's ashes if funds allow. We hope to spread the remains of Bella's ashes with Ted's parents.

With heartfelt gratitude from our family, we appreciate your support during our final moments with Bella.

Use of funds

Funds go to farewell our beloved Bella, covering cremation costs and creating lasting memories. Despite trying to save her, her health declining means it's time to say goodbye and let her feel the love on her journey to doggy heaven.

Navigating RUFF times with gratitude & goals  16 January 2024

We just wanted to say the biggest THANK YOU for all the love and support given to Bella & our family in the past few days. Your messages, visits and generosity have been like a warm hug during this tough time, and it means the world to us.

We don't expect that everyone's kindness will cover all costs for Bella's cremation, but we wanted to be straight up with you. After getting several quotes from local options, the average cost is around $800 - $900. This does not include Euthanasia. A bit of a shock to the wallet!

So we've updated our target to let you know, and not take more than we need. Your outpouring of love is already more than we could have imagined, and we're so grateful for every one of you.

Lots of licks from Bella too. 🐾❤️

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
