Ben to represent New Zealand in sailing

I have been sailing in the Optimist dinghy class for 2 years. I am learning an enormous amount. Not just sailing skills. But also confidence, resilience, problem-solving, and independence. I love to sail and I thrive on the competitive element of racing.
Following my competing in the Optimist Nationals competition in April 2019 in Auckland I was selected to represent New Zealand in New Caledonia in October 2019 as I ranked in the top 5 11 and under year olds. This competition will be attended by world-class sailors from NZ, France, Tahiti, Fiji, Australia and New Zealand.
I need to raise funds to get me there. This includes flights, accommodation, coaching, and boat hire.
I am very grateful for those that are supporting me on my journey and I hope that I can make you proud in my achievements in New Caledonia and beyond.

I am Ben's mum and I hold the bank account on his behalf, specifically for his sailing endeavours. I fully support his efforts to fund raise to enable him to attend international sailing regattas whilst representing New Zealand.
Use of funds
The money will be spent on flights to and from Noumea, New Caledonia for me and my mum (support crew!). Also we will incur costs for accommodation whilst in New Caledonia, coaching in the run up to the event (both in Auckland and NC), and boat hire.

Extended deadline for raising funds 13 August 2019
We are still over 8 weeks away from setting off to New Caledonia to compete in the Noumea Optimist sailing championships. So there is still time to support Ben in his goal of representing his country.
