Ben Low is a true Kiwi legend. Along with his wife Cheree, these two special people from Rotorua are working so hard to make ends meet for their family of 8.
Ben and Cheree have 6 children and 2 adult children between them; ages 3, 5, 6, 13, 15, 18, 22 & 24 years old. Three of the 6 children are autistic which has meant Cheree is full time caring for her children, while Ben works hard in his workshop crafting beautiful 8 string Tahitian Ukuleles for an income.
Over the last week, Ben has been competing in a competition on The Edge Radio station where he had to watch every single season of Keeping up with the Kardashians alongside one other contestant, in a campervan across 5 days. At the end of the 5 days, Ben and the other contestant were subjected to a quiz on the Kardashians to test their knowledge and see how much they learned during the 5 days with the winner taking home $5,000. Unfortunately, Ben did not come out on top. But after hearing his story all week, about his beautiful family, we were inundated with listeners who wanted to donate to Ben and his family, to help them have an unforgettable Christmas this year, and pay some bills.
The Edge Radio Station had Ben involved in a week-long competition
The money will go towards creating an unforgettable Christmas for Ben and his family, relieve pressure after a tough year by paying bills and helping with day to day expenses.
