Support Shane and his family after the sudden loss of his mother Bernie in Japan, helping cover medical and funeral expenses
Nelson
With heavy hearts, we share the sudden passing of Bernadette 'Bernie' Habbashaw, who died late this week in Chiba, Japan.
Bernie had travelled to Japan to visit her only son, Shane, and spend precious time with him, Rina and her two grandchildren Keilie and Kaylor. While there, she became unwell and required emergency transport, intensive care, and ultimately palliative care. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, Bernie passed with Shane by her side.
This devastating loss has brought significant financial strain for the family. The cost of emergency transport and treatment, ICU admission, and end-of-life support in Japan is substantial, and these unexpected medical bills have been left to Shane and his family to manage during an already heartbreaking time.
Bernie was a deeply loved mother, mother in law and grandmother, and her passing has left an enormous gap in the lives of those closest to her.
Any support—big or small—will help Shane and Rina navigate this difficult time with a little less financial stress.
