The Haier Big Hoot art trail #sowlfie. Time to strike a pose!
Nationwide
Sunday 03 March – Sunday 06 May: The Haier Big Hoot public art trail
Strike a pose in front of super-sized owl sculptures around Auckland for the Haier Big Hoot art trail from Saturday 03 March, 2018. With over 100 owls roosting in parks, public spaces, malls and libraries, turning Auckland into a virtual aviary until Sunday 06 May.
Pout, vogue or pull a blue steel pose (from the classic movie Zoolander) and make a donation to Child Cancer Foundation. Share your modelling skills in front of Big Hoot Owls with your friends and families using #sowlfie.
Giant owls (1.65m) have been individually designed by Dick Frizzell, Jeff Thomson, Flox, Peata Larkin, Wayne Youle, Anna Leyland, Weilun Ha and Grace Wright, along with some of New Zealand’s most exciting up and coming creatives.
The Haier Big Hoot offers great, free family entertainment, exploring Auckland and tracking down each owl. Find them all using the trail map within the Big Hoot 2018 app – available to download from the App Store or Google Play from 01 March, and collect rewards as you go.
Every week more than three Kiwi children are diagnosed with cancer. Child Cancer Foundation receives no direct government funding, and we have to fundraise so we can be there for these newly diagnosed children, their siblings and parents, while also continuing to support over 1,700 families nationwide.
Donations go towards a variety of practical, emotional and social support services for families nationwide. Every family is different, and so is the support they receive.
Child Cancer Foundation wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for our supporters. While you may not have experienced the work we do first-hand, please know that your contribution will make a difference to the lives of Kiwi children with cancer and their families.
