Please help Blake Murray represent New Zealand with the New Zealand Junior International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) Team

      11 March 2016

So this week has been very exciting for us as a family, but mainly for Blake. I shall explain, Blake was nominated for the Waikato Academy for Young Achievers for a 3yr program. (Learning of that was exciting enough). But then yesterday when Blake got home from school he had a Letter of Invite(acceptance) into the program, (which was even more overwhelming). For any 15yr old this is a huge step in progress and a great opportunity, as many of NZ's fantastic sports people have gone through this program. WOW just wow. We are so very proud of our son.

  • Time Flies

      14 November 2015

Wow, it's amazing how time flies with 9 days to go until I leave for Sydney. I have spent the past few days with the team at practice and making sure everything is working great after making a few changes. The nerves are starting to kick in but that is just part of the course. I have waited for this chance for a long time and I'm not only excited but really honoured to have this chance to represent my country. I want to thank all of my supporters family or friends and even if I don't know you, because I appreciate what everyone has and does for me. I will leave going to do my Best and learn from my trip and hope to do everyone but mostly my papa Steve proud.

  • Secondary School NI & Nationals 2015

      27 September 2015

Wow is the words that come to mind to cover the weekend of shooting. There were over 300 fantastic shooters from both the North & South Island which made for some fierce competition. Which produced some great results for many. I've included both Blake's personal results for both days as well as for the A-squad from HBH that he is a part of.

    Sat 26/09- North Islands; First round SR- 18/20, 2nd PS- 19/20= (54), 3rd SB-9/10

    Sun 27/09- Nationals; First round SR- 20/20, 2nd PS-20/20=(58), 3rd SB- 9/10

Blake was in shoot off for Single Rise with 34 others with it ending on his first target. Then he was in the shoot off for a position on the NI Team to be on team for North vs South, which he did.

The NI Team placed Second but not by much. Hamilton Boys (HBH) A-Squad won First Place for Point Score and winning a big trophy. As well as a few of our HBH boys winning top awards. With the weekend coming to a close and on a high note, it is also sad as we say farewell to the A-squads No#1 shooter Jeremy Schinkel as he moves on to begin his new journey.

Check out the medals the boys won and have posted new pics.

  • Sponsorship Demo

      9 August 2015

As everyone knows I am fundraising for my trip to the Oceania's in Nov. So I was asked to do a demo event day on Sat Aug 8th. Firstly, I want to Thank everyone who came out to support me, and a big Thank you to Richard Hull Builders & Co, and ALL the Trades people that Richard gathered in support. I also have to Thank the Waikato Clay Target Club, Chris and Owen Robinson, Jeanne Carter and Judy Murray (my nana). Because without the club there wouldn't be a place to shoot and everyone else's help to support the day in going well and making sure everyone had a good time.

I was nervous at first but Richard and Chris are great and helped me through. And I just want everyone to know that it's with this Great Support that I get from them and you that I continue to strive to do my Best and Thank You for believing in me and all the help that words don't describe.

  • Junior and Senior Pairs Shoot for Patron Cup 2015

      19 July 2015

Today was the Junior and Senior Pairs Shoot for Patrons Cup at the Auckland Metropolitan Clay Target Club.

So for months now Blake has been anxiously awaiting the day to arrive. Not out of fear but out of Excitement as he had asked his coach Gavin Paton to shoot with him. And so he accepted. Gavin as he does gave him words of wisdom and they wanted nothing more than to be on top. So the results of the day follows as each pair were shooting 50 targets Single Rise. Round 1- 25/25, Round 2- 25/25 (clean with no handicap). Shoot off for HOA ( Highest Over All) 23/25 (no dropped targets) but other pair did!! So Gavin and Blake WON THE PATRON CUP!
