Vision impaired cyclist sees gold

Kyren is a young 16 year old boy who Is totally blind and has been from birth. Kyren found a sport he could finally participate in, enabling him to obtain independence in a sporting environment. Kyren began in 2017 with Parafed Northland. The cycling team could see his potential to go far in the paracycling world. The parafed team put him forward to begin the process of working towards the paralympic development squad and hopefully achieve his goal of attending and wearing the silver fern at an paralympic games. Kyren has been fortunate to find a pilot, Kurt Coetzee, to ride with him on a tandem cycle, after seeing him perform at a national road cycling event. Unfortunately until now we have been borrowing a tandem bike. However it is now time Kyren and Kurt obtain a bike of their own that is suitable for them to compete at a high performance level.
