My best friend, Tessa recently discovered she will soon be losing her sight. Her goal now is to see the world while she still can.
Auckland
When aged a mere eight years old, Tessa was diagnosed with Stargardt's Macular Dystrophy which degenerates all central vision. This happened by the time she was fourteen.
With this in mind, during our friendship I was always in awe of Tessa as she strove for success during high school and last year graduated with a degree in Hospitality Management. All while being a supportive friend during my times in need.
Sadly, three months ago she was re diagnosed with Cone-Rod Dystrophy. This in short, means Tessa is going to lose more of her vision until she is completely blind.
During a very emotional time, she has made the mindful decision to embrace the vision she has now and travel while she can still see the beauty of different corners of the world. Her first stop is Europe and hopefully you can help her get there.
The Pitneys have been like a second family to me and I know they would be grateful for any help they could get. I also appreciate you for reading this :)
