Help Diabetes Youth New Zealand provide support and resources for children diagnosed with Type-1 diabetes
Nationwide
Having Type-1 diabetes is not fun! It requires a daily routine of fingerpricks and insulin injections, and a huge amount of mathematics and statistics to calculate food content/insulin dosage.
Kids diagnosed with Type-1 are tough little cookies, taking on the challenge and excelling in sports and academics, but they and their families need support and resources to ensure they can cope with the additional demands of the condition.
I'm a member of the Diabetes Youth NZ committee and mother of a little T1 warrior. I've decided to make a stand for awareness and support during Diabetes Action Month to help raise funds for camps and resources for kids with Type-1 diabetes.
DYNZ, through the roles of advocacy, support, lobbying, fundraising and the provision of educational resources, is committed to promoting the principals of good health and well-being of all young people with Diabetes and their families.
Diabetes Youth NZ provides resources for newly diagnosed families. Your donation will go towards adding a bit more sparkle in their lives with additional resources for the packs, as well as the establishment of regional/national camps where they can develop not only the skills specific to their condition, but also create lifelong relationships to support them along the way.
