BOBBY CALF MISSION - HELP US HELP THEM!!

Hello everyone,

I run a non-profit farm sanctuary, here in North Canterbury. We have over 50 furry residents here at the sanctuary. We have recently rescued over 20 dairy cows from slaughter, they are settling in so well having only just arrived. Because these girls are not pregnant we are now able to rescue some bobby calves from slaughter in the next month.

As most of you will know, calving season is right around the corner. In a couple of weeks calving in New Zealand will start and over the course of 3 months, the dairy industry will slaughter 2 million bobby calves at the tender age of 4 days old. Bobby calves are a waste product of the dairy industry. They are stolen from their mothers within hours of birth so the milk intended for them can be taken and sold to humans.

With your help we will be able to save 20 lives from this fate. On top of this, thousands and thousands of lambs are born each year and become orphans, with your help we will be able to rescue some of these tiny babies. This money will not be used to pay for the calves and lambs as they are kindly being given to us. The money will be used to buy milk powder for both the lambs and calves, it is the biggest expense when raising these babies. The other expenses include calf meal, bottles, cleaner, bedding, vet expenses, lamb/calf covers, lamb nappies, towels, blankets, hot water expenses etc.

With your help we will be able to save many of these innocent lives, they will be the faces of the billions of victims who are slaughtered every year because of human greed. By meeting these beautiful souls here at the sanctuary and following their stories, people will be able to make the connection and realize that animals are here with us, not for us.

They will be able to live a life free of harm here at the sanctuary. Their days will consist of basking in the sun aswell as recieving endless cuddles, treats and love.

All money raised will go towards their ongoing care. If we do not meet our goal we will still save as many babies as we can with what we raise. Your help means life for them.

They are so young, so innocent and so vulnerable, we want to be able to give some of these precious babies a life they deserve, a life worth living. Please help us help them, we cannot save these tiny beings without you.
