  • GREAT NEWS !!!!!

    Sorry I haven't posted we have just been very busy. So Jake has finished his 2nd cycle and starts his 3rd cycle this coming Monday. His counts are low so he will be having GCSF injections over the weekend to boost his counts.

    Jake had a pet scan on Wednesday and we went to hospital today to find out the results.....

    The chemo is working and his cancer is shrinking. 😃

    We are just so over the moon. Jake did his happy waving hands dance and I feel like I have just won the lottery.

    Jan and Jake came down Monday for Jakes scan where he had radioactive dye put through a new line , Jake of course took it in his stride as he always does

    we will hear results Friday hoping and praying for good news .

    No transfusion yesterday yay every reprieve from being poked and prodded is a win .

    Jake just blows our minds with his incredible positive attitude and keeps us laughing with his cheeky sense of humour Jake you are the most wonderful human being and we adore you x

    Chemo, dressing change, and blood transfusion today. Jake had a rough weekend in a lot of pain, tired, dizzy and just felt rubbish. Hopefully the hemoglobin bloods today will give him a boost. Jake goes to Wellington October 5th for a pet scan to see if chemo is doing anything to the cancer. Sending LOVE to every1. Xoxox

    Not a great day for Jake today. He has had a couple of different chemo today, last ones for this cycle. But his blood counts are good. So he had to have some blood transfusion today as well. He's abit weak and wobbly. Next cycle will start in a few weeks with daily chemo. They want us to come to clinic every couple of days just to check Jacobs counts and probably do more blood transfusion. He also has to have some injections at home to try and boost his counts. Xoxo

  • Update from Jakes Mum 7/7/21

    Sorry I haven't done an update on Jake. But My mum is in hospital so things have been very busy.

    Update on Jake: the scan has shown that the chemo he has been having hasn't done anything to the cancer. Wellington has got back to us and said they won't be doing the transplant. So next week Jake will have a line put in and the following week will start on a harsh chemo cocktail. If Jacobs body can cope with the treatment then he may have a chance to bet this.Jacob is a strong young man and I know he will fight as hard as possible for as long as possible.

    We achieved our goal of completing the Asterix book collection thanks to some extraordinary people gifting books and donations and fundraising , thank you all so much for your continued support.

    Jake has had some rough times over the past few weeks with excruciating pain mostly at night due to the decline of his liver function as a result of the chemo drugs .

    Jan and Jake have appointments this Thursday and Friday where we will be given a clearer picture of what options are available.

    With our mum in hospital at present with failing health and so much going on with our family I will do my best to post updates on Jakes page as soon as I am able .

  • Medical Update

    Jacob had his 3rd cycle last week It really knocked him around. Poor dude. His blood test are showing that his liver isn't coping very well with treatment. They will monitor via bloods and may have to reduce dosaging. Jake has had a few test over the past few weeks and his kidneys arent too good but his heart is stronger then what they thought. Lung test is still pending.

    He will have a scan in a few weeks to see if the cancer has reduced at all. Thank u every1 for ur love and support it means the world to myself and Jacob.
