Books4Kids, Shilong Primary School, Sichuan, China

$3,172 of $5,000 goal
Given by 47 generous donors in around 6 months

Books 4 Kids is supporting Shilong Primary school in China. This small school is poorly equipped. Little heating and few reading books.

Auckland

Shilong Primary School is located on the border of Sichuan & Yunnan Provinces, China. It has 162 pupils of which 70% are `left behind kids' - whose parents have migrated to find work. The school is ill equipped. It has a room for a library but empty book shelves. Pupils can't take any of reading books home and often write in their text books as they don't have note books. Books 4 Kids is hoping to donate appropriate, locally sourced Chinese reading books for the children.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
