ABOUT ME
My name is Bradley Apps and i'm a 20 year old hockey player from New Zealand. Since a young age my dream has always to be to play professional ice hockey, ask anyone that knows me. Very recently a opportunity to for fill this dream of mine has come up , giving me the chance to move to Norway and play for the "Haugesund seagulls" in the Norway second division.
One christmas when i was around 4 or 5 i got the movie " the mighty ducks " in my stocking and that instantly made me want to get out there and smash some pucks around, and what do you know? a few months later i was learning to play at age 5. Starting hockey was the best choice i have ever made and cant thank My parents ,family and friends enough for the constant help and encouragement.
HAUGESUNG SEAGULLS
The team i will be joining competes in the Norway second division recently winning and moving up from Division 3. The town is based on the west coast of Norway.
WHAT IVE DONE SO FAR
Since starting hockey at age 5, i have come along way. The main highlights of my career so far include: Representing NZ for the first time at age 13 for the U16 national team. Ive represented NZ all through the age groups starting at U16,U18,U20 and this year i made it onto the national mens team the "ICE BLACKS" this was a huge achievement for me and took me to the division 2 world champs in Cape Town in South Africa. Outside of representing NZ i have previously been and played in overseas clubs in Hungary playing in the top under 16 league and also in England playing for the Guildford Phoenix in the uk top under 18 league.
At age 15 i was named in the Canterbury Red Devils as one of the youngest players to debut into the NZIHL (New Zealand's top mens league) and i have played in this league for the past 5 years winning two championships.
MY BUDGET
From the beginning I've been lucky enough to have my parents support throughout my journey, from taking me to the rink at stupid hours of the morning to obviously helping me fund these pricey overseas trips. Without them i wouldn't be half the person and player i have become today. But there is a limit of where i can push their pockets as the costs continue to rise.
The money i am trying to gather will help go towards short notice flights, and general living and hockey costs in Norway (its not cheap there.)
Anything that is raised from this appeal will go directly to the trip costs and not to my personal spending money, even though duty free is tempting..
Any money that i do raise will be extremely hard for me to show how much i appreciate the support of following my dream, and i couldn't do enough to repay any of you other than to continue playing ,training , bettering myself and giving 100% all the time.
I will keep you updated on my journey via social media,
Thank you.
Bradley Apps.
