8 Kiwi women will be diagnosed with breast cancer today. Breast Cancer Support Hibiscus Coast is here to help.
Auckland
The Hibiscus Coast is a fast-growing area, and the need for community-based support services is growing too.
Breast Cancer Support has been on the Coast for over 20 years, providing advice, reassurance, and information to Coast women diagnosed with breast cancer.
Our Support Group meeting venue is kindly provided for us by Bayley's Orewa/Macky's Real Estate, and strongly supported by Rosalind Warren.
Both Bayley's and Rosalind understand the importance of being able to sit down with someone who understands, and has 'been there too.'
We rely on the generosity of our Coast community to help us continue our support work, and also to 'spread the word' that we are here, and ready to help any woman diagnosed with breast cancer.
Because we’ve been where you are, we know that sometimes you just need support from someone who’s experienced breast cancer too.
We provide appropriate peer-based support for people of all ethnicities, through our network of Māori, Pasifika, Asian, and NZ European volunteers throughout New Zealand.
Our aim is to empower and enable those with breast cancer to make well informed decisions about their treatment, care, and recovery.
The support we offer is non-medical, practical (tips and tools), and has a focus on the emotional wellbeing of a person, with the four health pillars of Te Whare Tapa Whā guiding our approach: taha tinana (physical), taha wairua (spiritual), taha whānau (family) and taha hinengaro (mental).
All funds raised from this page go directly towards the running of our Hibiscus Coast Support Group.
