Hi everyone, I wanted to give some updates.
Update 1. Since the incident, we have moved out of the property over safety concerns for our other cat and have reported to animal control. However, due to multiple dwellings on the property and whether it’s classed as one private property or multiple they are consulting their legal department to determine whether it can be prosecuted.
Update 2. Communication with the owners of the dog has been extremely difficult/ non existent. Instead of addressing the situation directly, they have gone through a third-party and are still denying accountability and refusing to pay the vet bill.
Update 3. To make matters worse, this third-party was closely related with the dog owner. Seemingly trying to protect her, he has started harassing us. He has even said, “If the cat got dealt to, it was karma.” and accused us of Biggie’s attack being “just a smoke screen not to pay rent” implying we attacked her ourselves. These statements have been deeply hurtful and distressing during an already devastating time as you can imagine.
Despite all this, the support from everyone here has been overwhelming and has reminded us that there is compassion in the world. Your messages, donations, and encouragement have helped us navigate this incredibly difficult situation and our fight for justice for Biggie.

We are honestly in shock and completely overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity shown in such a short amount of time. It is heartwarming to see what an amazing community we have, everyone’s support means more than we can put into words.
