Bring Biggie Home

$2,316 of $4,500 goal
Given by 45 generous donors in 19 days

Desperately trying to bring our beloved Biggie home after a vicious dog attack lead to her being euthanised

Clevedon, Auckland

Our beautiful Biggie was attacked by a dog on 13th of September . Due to the severity of her injuries and the concern she wouldn’t survive her injuries/ surgeries which in total was estimated at $30,000 we made the heartbreaking decision to put her to sleep.

To be able to bring Biggie home and cremated the vet bill needs to paid by the 22nd of September, and if we are unable to pay after 10 days, finance charges and a 5% monthly interest rate and holding fees will be also added. ($50 per day )

The dog owner has taken no responsibility and is refusing to pay the vet bill. Even as we move forward with reporting the attack it will be a lengthy process which doesn’t help us bring her home.

Her injuries included;

- Suspected urinary tract rupture , Urethral tear, bladder rupture due to location of bite wounds

- Suspected Severe orthopaedic and soft tissue trauma to the pelvic region and right hindlimb, possible Pelvic fracture, right femoral fracture, sacroiliac luxation, severe muscle contusion/crushing

- Suspected Hindlimb paresis/paralysis and tail paralysis, nerve root avulsion, spinal fracture, peripheral nerve trauma from bite wounds.

- Traumatic shock and systemic instability resulting from severe crushing injuries, pain, and metabolic derangements

After the immense pain she suffered and the trauma she went through, we just want to be able to bring our baby home so she’s at peace with her family.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause. In the loss of my poor cat recently, i wasn't able to blame the dog fully for what happened. As the owners neglect + abuse and lack of exercise and interaction with other dogs + people certainly didn't help the situation. I know your pain, and I'm so sorry for your loss of Biggie.
