Broken and broke

8 years ago Andrew Houghton was in a near death car accident, by a miracle he survived. After 4 weeks in intensive care my father woke his hole life turned upside down. His injurys consisted of C6/7 spinal cord injury (tetraplegic) and traumatic brain injury.

After a year in burwood spinal unit ACC gave Andrew $130, 000 pay out witch was to last him the rest of his life as he would never be able to work again. This money has been unfairly taken and then spent by another person.

Andrew has now been placed in a state home in a the midst of a town where crime and burglary happens on a regular.

Hes so far sold his beloved Harleys and car just to try and survive. Ideal place for a permanently disabled man.

Now theres nothing left to sell...

Theres no way of getting that money back we've tried, my dad has to live with that. Every day for Andrew is a struggle we take one step forward then get knocked back two more. I've lost count of how many times hes been back to hospital for more surgeries or just admitted because his body has failed on him.

Andrew had one positive thing that came out of his horrific accident and that got taken away for him by his own son. Theres so much more to this story I could go on and on but this is just a taste of what this incredible man has gone through.
