Help Keryn get back on her feet

Waipukurau, Hawke's Bay

In the early hours of Tuesday the 24th of October, Keryn Hepi, who we all know and love was brutally attacked in her home, and place of business, 'The birds nest'. This viscious attack left her bruised and bloodied, with a head injury, swelling, and 7 broken ribs. Her home was also set alight, but thankfully, was mostly contained to the beauty salon (enhance beauty boutique) in the third bedroom. Keryn remains in hospital and it is unknown at this time, when she will be able to return to her home, or will be able to go back to work. We do not yet know the extent of the fire damage and whether it is safe for her to go back or not. Everyones focus right now remains on her recovery, and rest is crucial to this. This page has been created to help relieve the financial burden of her income loss, household bills, food, and petrol etc. For full transparency, excess funds may also be used to help towards re-establishing the beauty salon, as the damage is extensive, and this income stream would also help mum financially. Mum is of course the main concern here though and her needs will absolutely come first. If you would like to donate to help get our whanau back on their feet, we hugely appreciate your generosity. Thank you to all of our friends, family, and clients, who have reached out with messages of love, kindness and well wishes, and asking how you can help support her through this horrific ordeal.

Beyond grateful  9 November 2023

Wow. I cannot beging to express the gratitude mum and I feel, not only for the donations received so far, (which in itself, is incredible), but for the influx of offers of help, support and healing from you all. Mums physical injuries are healing well, however, delayed concussion is setting in, and the mental healing is going to be a long and unsettling journey. We have been informed that while the landlords isurance will cover damages for the house, insurance is not going to cover items lost to the fire in the beauty room 💔 We won't let this keep us down! We'll continue to update you all, as we work through this, but I needed you all to know that we see and feel all of the support pouring in. Thank you so, so much!

Please feel free to continue to share this givealittle link, to help us return to our feet and open our doors to our wee community again 🙏💕 - Tash xx

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
