Bubble Trouble

  • A message from Liam as this fund comes to a close

      25 June 2020

Thank you so much to everyone who contributed, we tried to keep up with everyone’s messages but there ended up being too many to read them all - but I’ll slowly work my way through.

Your generosity means the world to me, and it’s put us in a secure position where I can get the support I need to raise him as well as I can. It has removed a massive stress from my shoulders in this awful, impossible time. I look forward to one day showing him this page with the thousands of comments. Thank you for giving me this amazing opportunity to teach him how kind strangers can be.

  • Let's make it to $100,000!

    Hello everyone,

Firstly Liam and I would like to thank each and every one of you for your kindness and generosity.

From the little children who have donated $5 of their pocket money to the anonymous hearts out there who really gave much more than we ever hoped and then all those wonderful friends and family in between who have gifted what they can. People who don't even know the couple well have painted portraits, sent food boxes, gift boxes, children's toys, the list goes on. We are just all blown away.

I just visited Liam and Arlo in Wellington this week and they are both doing as well as can be expected, inventing a new reality for the father-son duo.

Arlo has already won my heart and appears in this photograph wearing my son's merino jumper that was passed down to Arlo. He is a happy, smily baby.

I have extended the date of this fund, as we are soooooo close to cracking $100,000 that I thought I'd give it one more chance. Help us get there by spreading the word, then I'll close the fund feeling very satisfied!

Thanks again for all your love and support on behalf of Liam and Arlo,

    Rowena

  • Julie has left us. Here's an update by her husband Liam.

Late last night, Julie went home. It was gentle and quiet, and I was by her side. Shortly after she was surrounded by family.

She was a fighter until the end, staunchly refusing to give up. She kept us laughing through our grief the whole way. That’s how she’d like to be mourned; with laughter in the tears.

Julie deeply valued and cared for each person she came across. Her final weeks were full of her trying to do things for other people. She wanted everyone who knew her to know how deeply she cared for you. Celebrate her by laughing, being kind, watching a movie, and enjoying some delicious food.

    - Liam

Hello everyone. We are sending out so much gratitude for all the love, thoughts and donations sent to Liam, Julie and Arlo and some of your prayers were answered! Julie has got to spend more time with her wee family than she and the doctors had expected, which has been a blessing but she is now sleeping most of the time, which we expect means she doesn't have much time left at all. Arlo however has just started smiling all the time and cheering up everyone in the room, especially his daddy, so we thought of sharing his smile with you..... We have now miraculously reached $85,000 and have 8 days left to raise money for little Arlo's future, so please share the link far and wide. Thank you all so much x x x

  • They've moved in!

      5 May 2020

Wow, thank you all so much for your support, it's amazing how quickly this fund is growing with all of your love. Thank you for donating and sharing this cause with your friends.

Today Liam and Julie moved into their new home and Julie's family are babysitting Arlo for the night, so that Julie & Liam can have the first night alone in a very long time! They are so very happy to have their own place and space together as a family, so they can nest for at least a little while.

May their home be filled with love and laughter.

Hi Rowena. I worked with Julie this is heartbreaking to read. A friend of of mine runs Bellyful which delivers frozen meals for families is difficult situations. Would Liam be interested in receiving Bellyful meals at some stage in the future or now.

Let me know I can get put you in contact with them. Kind regards and lots of love. Jade Lorier jadelorier@gmail.com

Hi Rowena, just wanting to pass this facebook page onto you Heartprint Impressions. I hope this comment is not insensitive but having lost my only child suddenly 15 years ago I would of loved to have done this if given the opportunity.

My first thought was one for baby Arlo when he turns 21, but of cause many family members may want one. It is lovely having treasured memories.

I can only imagine what you all are going through.

      Regards Judy Glenny
