Buddy’n’Roo Appeal
Huapai, Kumeu
This is an appeal for Roo the Rottweiler, co-founder and mascot of Buddy’n’Roo DogMom DogCare, a small canine care business operating in Huapai, Auckland.
Just 4 years young, an abnormal mass has developed at the base of her tail. Growing at such a rapid rate, the mass has begun adding pressure to her intestinal tract impacting her ability to toilet comfortably and freely.
After two initial vet visits, consultation, X-rays, aspirate testing, antibiotics and anti inflammatories, she was referred to ARC Specialists where they confirmed alongside her original vet consultations, that the mass appears to be that of a cancerous tumour.
She is also prematurely diagnosed with hip dysplasia, arthritis in both hind ankles and an undetermined issue in her hind knee. All medical symptoms common with Rottweiler breed which unfortunately means her insurance will not cover any further treatment.
Total costs to date have reached $2,000.00 with more to come. The next stage being a full body CT scan to check for spread plus a Biopsy of the mass $6,000.00+ followed by surgery to remove the mass and part of her intestine (if operable TBC) $8,0000+.
Current economic crisis, cost of living, and being a small business means times are tough for all including us. Our sole business focus has always been to help dogs and families in need, meaning we only accept what we can and not for financial gain.
All proceeds toward Roo’s Appeal will aid in ongoing medical costs with sincere gratitude.
